Mother of the Elements
A portion of this is in Lane's Greenwitch Tarot as the Divine Feminine card (usually the Empress):
Here is our Black foremother from deep in the heart of Africa who sourced us all. The primal Earth Mother Goddess herself, also known as Gaia, Pachamama, and “She who Hears the Cries of the World.”* Ancient stone carvings sometimes show her as a Bird Woman and she demanded to be thus as I created her. The crazy quilt fabric collage was done for the “Oil and Water Community Art Show” called in response to the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. She of Water and Air, Earth and Fire Magics. Her creatures, great and small, surround her, are protected by her, and are linked together. Her belly is the Earth as seen from space. She is fecund and holding her own amidst the chaos of the present-day world that includes the oil spills, wars, refugees, earthquakes, wildfire and floods of climate change, and all the other human-caused catastrophes. She is still here. And is in fact rising, rising, ever more present to we who have all our senses alert to change and to the return of the beauty and power of the Divine Feminine – the Goddess - within all of us. It is she who watches over, nurtures, encourages and holds us all dear.
Men and women both have aspects of the Divine Feminine/Goddess within as well as the Divine Masculine IV [Men's Journey]. How is She making Her appearance known to you? Can you feel her inside you? A rich garden, nurturing new life within her labia-rinth. What are you growing today? What has been seeded and is ready to sprout? How do you protect your creative, regenerative energy? You can call out to her – and paradoxically, within to her. She is ever present. Patiently guarding the creative sparks of life that are ready to burst into glorious flame.
