In Tribe/In Place

The place is the environs around sacred Neahkahnie Mountain on Oregon's North Coast that I have called Home since 1976. A three-village area of about 6000 human souls on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, it includes the two farmed valleys, as well as the bay and estuary of the north and south forks of the Nehalem River. Once the ancestral lands of the indigenous Nehalem peoples, today Manzanita is the ocean beach town, Nehalem is the river town and Wheeler is on the bay.

To me the Tribe is the folks of all ages gathered here who are interested in connected co-creative community and spiritual growth. Some were born here, some like me were drawn here - pulled here, I believe, by the Mountain itself. My Call has been to integrate these two aspects, partly with my organizational and communication skills, partly through art, and partly through that inestimable thing called Spirit....
